SF & SD suggestions

So I have a coworker who is from another country. His girlfriend is coming to town for 3 weeks. They are going to go up to SF for a week and then spend the next 2 weeks here in SD.

I want to help them have a great time so I especially need help with suggestions for things to do while in SF; I can give them a lot of suggestions for SD but with your help that could be expanded.

Great man. What do they like to do? Outdoor type stuff? Eat food? Are they adventurous? What are the dates?

I think they leave this weekend actually, not sure on the exact dates, but probably the 16th through the 23rd in SF, then the next 2 weeks in SD. I think they are looking for a few nice restaurants to go to and the rest of the time just seeing the sights and stuff.

I think they like outdoorsy things, I don't see them as much art museum people. They are from Chile if that helps at all, haha.

Dang, I was going to say the MoMA. It's classic.

Perfect, there is a Chilis right down the street from my work!

Fancy sit down places in SF:
Town Hall, Wayfare Tavern, Defina, Quince, Frascati, Acqurello, Chapeau!, Cafe Zoetrope, Incanto, The Slanted Door, Spruce.

Good lunch or casual dinner places in SF:
Roam, Delarosa, American Grilled Cheese Kitchen, The Sentinel, Golden West, Burger Bar, Zero Zero, Brickhouse Cafe, Tartine Bakery, The Grove, Woodhouse Fish Company, Plow, Straw

You probably got SD on lock but some food places I would suggest would be:
The Linkery, Buon Appetito, Bankers Hill, Farm House Cafe, Alchemy, Bread and Cie, The Tractor Room, Sushi Ota, Searsucker, Cucina Urbana, Cafe on Park.

As far as "attractions" and "things to do" go, I like weird things that other people wouldn't like doing. I would probably never say the zoo or sea world, for instance.

In SF, I would say (rated most awesome to still awesome):
California Academy of Sciences, Ocean Beach, The Presidio, Ferry Market Plaza, Rich people houses in Pacific Heights, Gelato in Washington Square, Take a drive up north though the country, Off the Grid, South Park, Baseball game, BiRite Creamery, Cottage Row.

If you want more, let me know!

Haha, yea many they love Chilli's.

But yea, I told him about Ocean Beach and that one glass elevator that overlooks Union Square and he seemed to be pretty excited about things like that, nice views and such. So Yerba Buena would be nice too.

And Annie, i'm sure they will go to the MoMA too, I didn't mean to rule that out. I forgot that his GF is an architect so she'll probably like that area.

He's got some travel brochures so he knows of the things that would come up in those, so I'm trying to let them know of some other, better things. I'm thinking I can just give him a huge list of things and he can go through and do the ones he wants.

Oh and is the Jejune institute still going on? He seemed interested in doing that too.

Oh and of course, thank you for all the suggestions so far.

Sweet, I totally forgot about the elevator and Yerba Buena, both awesome things. Also, add Grace Cathedral / Huntington Park to the list!

Sadly, though, Jejune is no longer in operation. I am super sad about this...
