lower your eyelids...

My day started at 2:30 Friday afternoon, when I woke up on the sofa. I rolled over, grabbed my iPod and checked to see if there were any Jimmy Eat World tickets on craigslist for under 100 dollars, no avail. I then emptied the dishwasher and took a shower. Mark finally started waking up around the time I got out, which was about 3:30 (which was thirty minutes late). I got dressed and we headed to Cosmos, where I had to meet some dude so he could give me some money. After the brief meeting, Mark and I raced to the bank to cash the check. As I was running through the doors, I saw a guy who had just been tazered laying on the ground, drooling from the mouth. I wish i could stop and laugh but I had to get to the bank.

Mark and I headed downtown after I took out some money. We picked up Joe from Peter's house and got some pizza, which was amazing. Cheese pizza with Spinach and Ricotta cheese chunks. I usually don't like Ricotta cheese food, such as stuffed shells, but this was pretty bomb. When we were done gobbling up our pizza, we went down a block to the House of Blues. Joe had a ticket to see Jimmy Eat World but we didn't so we just hung outside for about an hour. Some really shady dudes kept on coming up to us, asking us if we wanted to buy tickets for 100 bucks each. "NO WAY, ACE!" is what we yelled at them. Actually, one average looking hipster dude came up to us asking only $50 bucks for one ticket. I would feel way bad leaving Mark alone so the transaction didn't go through, so we waited longer. After No Knife played a song or two, a guy named Green Giant came up to us and said in a defeated voice, "50 each." Obviously we jumped on this offer. I was pretty skeptical about lawful integrity of the tickets but it was JEW so I was willing to comprise morals. Needless to say, I was jumping with joy when we got it.
We traversed our way to the front of the crowd after spotting Joe. We saw the last few songs of No Knife's set and then Jimmy Eat World took the stage.

This is why No Knife is so cool...

I have never done anything as emo in my life as watching Jimmy Eat World play Table of Glasses (and I could not be happier about that fact). They played straight through Clarity and even the 3 not-so-good songs were amazing. After some chit-chat with people post-concert, we headed back to my house for some pasta party. When I got home, I really had to P, like, really bad. For some reason, I wanted to hold it in longer, so I bounced around the kitchen for 7 minutes or so; then I finally had to go. As I was running through the kitchen, I slammed my knee into the corner of the panty door. I kept on running but only made it about 2 more yards when I collapsed on the floor in pain. I said, "Mark, I can't make it, you have to drag me." So Mark dragged me by my wrists into the bathroom, where things got really questionable. After relieving myself, I made some pasta while Joe broke my internet. Popcorn and Italian Soda were also made, which were amazing.

Earlier in the day I said to Mark, "The question is, do I sleep tonight?" We both agreed that I should because (as we both knew) Disneyland without sleep is the worst experience evar. We were all hanging out and 4:15 or so rolled around and Joe said "You realize you have to get up in like 30 minutes?" At that time, I knew sleep wasn't going to be likely. At about 4:45, I laid down the sofa until Mark forced me out at 5:20. We watched some quick CNN to get my mind awake then I poured myself some Italian Soda to begin the day. I will say this, any day that starts with iSoda is going to be a good day. Accompanied by Bodysnatchers, I got dressed and left the house around 6:30 or 7 (an hour or so too late). I drove to Annie's house, where everyone was annoyingly awake and alert. COOL, I said and we were on our way to Disneyland.

We got lost before we even got to the 805. I have no idea how but we did, I blame it on the time. We stopped to get gas at a station which had more broken pumps than working ones. And their bathroom floor was covered in P.
I then got some Brooke at 7-11 and Annie got coffee. The attendant tried to talk her into getting Blueberry coffee and Annie jokingly acted interested but stood strong in her stance against Blueberry coffee. Good call.
OK, then we were FINALLY on our way to dland.

On the way there, good things happened. I made a CD that started with "Lower Your Eyelids..." which is how I was going to tell her "OH BTW, we are seeing m83 tonight" but I had a feeling she only knew so I skipped that song and "Don't Save Us from the Flames." The playlist had some oldies and some newies, Mushaboom, Be Still My Heart, Dead Dogs Two, Fight Test, Mr. Blue Sky (which came up right as we were driving through San Clemente, like always) and Yoshimi. At the right time, (after Camp Pendelton before the Oso exit of the 5) I made Murder Me Beautiful; Annie said she liked the guitar part. DUH. The playlist then continued with Travis and some Rilo Kiley (with drum intros included, Joe). I enlightened her about Culver when we came up to their exit and the same with The City.

Sadly, there was no My Generation once we got off the freeway but there was some Clarity, which (having not slept) was still fresh in my head. We pulled into the (wrong) parking lot and "Once in a Lifetime" came on, which made Annie pretty happy. But we had to focus on the bigger picture, getting to the Mickey & Friends parking structure. BLAH BLAH BLAH, I am getting tired so long story short we got to Mickey and Friends, where we listened to Snoop & Dre as we were packing up our bag.

My knee had been in a locked position for around three hours or so, which made it incredibly hard to walk, so we hobbled to the tram. Once we got to Downtown Disney, we needed to P on each other so we found a bathroom and did that. We went to a store in the Grand Californian to buy some Bengay, which is when I realized I forgot my money in the car. BUMMER. Sweetheart Annie was nice enough to buy it for me, which was awesome because it helped 1000 times. So, we had hobbled back to the car to get $money to pay for stUff. Upon our return to Downtown Disney, we waited to buy tickets to the Happiest Place on Earth, which should be renamed The Most Hot Topic Place on Earth.

The first ride we went on was Indiana Jones. In line, I called Pat to tell him I was thinking of him and I texted Mark, Joe and Hazz (but no one responded!). Towards the end of the ride, I started to yell Reebok. I only got in 3 really good screams before my voice was shattered (it had already hurt from the night before). After a few more rides, bread bowls were eaten. This is where the no-sleep idea had hit me hard. I felt like I couldn't go on, so I popped a cream soda. YUM. After a couple sips, I got enough energy to go on Star Tours with Chris and Ashley (and Annie, of course). Chris and I DD'd all over the place and then went walked around the park a bit. From that point on, I was pretty awake.

DEEDEEYEAHYEAH!

We had to leave the park around 7:00, so we had to choose our activities wisely. We had time for some Space Mountain (and 1000volts) THNDRMTN, Buzz Lightyear and Pirates. I looked around for Joe while I was in line for Pirates but he wasn't there...
We left the park and annie said she was about to "piss herself to death right now" so I told her to go! Then we got coffee in Downtown Disney (which is abbreviated DD) and hobbled back to the car.

Evanescence Band Practice

I told Annie that I would reveal the next part of our day once we got to the freeway, and I did. She seemed pretty happy with it, so that was cool. The concert started at 9 and we got there at about 8:45 due to a 502 on the 101 which was blocking the interstate. I was feeling uneasy about the whole thing but we made it JUSTIN time.

The venue was BEAUTIFUL. SO BEAUTIFUL. But the mens bathroom was freaking disgusting. Luckily, our perfect seats made up for it. But the guy in front of me smelled soo bad. ANYWAYS, Mr. M83 played a short little solo set, which sounded like improvs on those short interlude tracks from Before the Dawn Heals Us. One of them was reaallyyy freaking good. Annie said he looks like he is having sex when he plays. It is kinda disgusting but I guess m83==sex.
After his 15 minute set, the philharmonic came out and played an Arvo song, which was AMAZING. Really, it was the most perfect thing I have ever heard. I hope you all can one day see a full orchestra play because it blows m83, Radiohead, Jimmy Eat World and Sigur Ros out of the water. The crazy thing about it was that it was all natural, no PA or amps, just raw acoustics. Shoot.
After the solo sets, m83 came back on to collab with the philharmonic to play a short yet beautiful set. The highlights of which were moonchild and lower your eyes to die with the sun. And yes Joe, there were drums and they were DEAD on. And yes, there was a choir to sing in it too. I really can't describe how good it was but it was funny to look around and see how many people were asleep.

m83!

I got lost driving through LA. Flower, Grand, Hope, 2nd - 7th. It is so strange to drive downtown in a city that you never have been in before. It is so similar to San Diego yet so very different. ANYWAYS, I was eating a cookie and found the 101. Once we got on it, I locked in my cruise control at 64 mph and put on Reckoner.
Then Annie took her clothes off, so I turned it off.
Then Annie put her clothes on, so I turned it back on.

The drive home was relatively fast; not once did I feel tired. Except for a quick dance session, we talked all the way home which is says a lot because my voice was gone. I took off my cruise control two hours later, as we were getting on the 8 from the 805.

annie's neck

We said goodbye in the car because my knee hurt too much to get out. At that time, I didn't know that the time was springing forward an hour, so technically Annie was an hour and a half late.
I wasn't tired when got home at 3:45 (which I thought was 2:45, so checked to see if Fresh Prince was on TV. Since it wasn't I thought it would probably be a good idea for me to go to bed.
I feel asleep instantly and my day ended at 4:00 Sunday morning.
