RIP Bad Times

So this is it, I am officially funemployed and loving it. I will tell you, it is amazing to go to bed at night and not worry about the dark looming cloud over work. But I have certainly not slumped into a lazy life...

I have been waking up around 10:30, even on the weekend, because I am excited about what I have to work on that day. The new website, Stollet, is coming along very nicely and I am almost ready to start building it out, so that is cool. I also made a lot of forward progress on my new Facebook application yesterday, which I will tell you more about sometime in the future. Is anyone good with wood?
I am currently balancing a lot of different projects and I need some way to manage them... Hmmm. I am still trying to decide between a large whiteboard to chart progress on vs. a website or something. Thoughts?

On Saturday I showed Annie and Joe and awesome bridge that they didn't know existed. I wish I had taken pictures to show you but I didn't have my camera. Well I probably did, actually. OH! And I built a new shelving unit to put my big TV on! Annie was my cheerleader for it. I have been so blessed by TV this week, it is amazing. Every morning I can wake up at 8 and watch Saved by the Bell, followed by Fresh Prince and then Home Improvement! And this week is "Thanks George!" on Nick at Night, so that is OBVIOUSLY something to be thankful for.

I don't assume you follow the Jeff and Jer blog, do you? Well, a few weeks ago Joe, Hazz, Lauren and I saw this movie called A Serious Man. Here is what Jer had to say about it:

Who’s seen this movie? It’s the new Coen Brothers flick. Whoa!!! About 5 minutes into it, I said to Pam, “I don’t know why I’m mesmerized, but I am”. It’s one of the most unusual and fascinating flicks I’ve seen in a long time. Maybe among my top 15 ever. Did you see “Barton Fink”? (It’s in my top 10). This flick is Barton Fink-ish. Very little violence, and absolutely brilliant. But it’s The Coen Brothers, so what would you expect? It’s a quiet, quirky movie that I keep thinking about. And one of the great, great, great endings of all time. Just stunning. Here’s how good it was: The guy in front of us was eating M&Ms (peanut) and we both got a huge jones for some. But neither of us wanted to miss a second of the movie. Fortunately, he fell asleep with almost half a bag left. I would NOT recommend this for everybody, though. No “Jer-an-tee”. If you liked “Fast & Furious”, don’t go see this.

Funny, huh?

Well, I don't think I have too much more to say, so I will leave you with one of my favorite commercials...

Maybe it is Kanye? Or Jerry and Elaine? Or the Jon Brion piano? I have no idea but I love it!

Also, this video makes me incredibly happy:

Okay, that is all!

dk, as in dick.
dk mode!

I have to say, that's a pretty good commercial, but it doesn't really compare with my favorite:

@gina- I totally saw that commercial this morning! I think the coffee cup and shopping bag are my favorite faces...

@chris - Is that Steele Canyon Bum Bridge? If so, it wasn't that one... that bridge is sketch.

Nice dude, sounds like your funemployment is going well so far.

What do you mean by "is anyone good with wood?" Like carpentry?

I am also curious as to what bridge you showed Annie and Joe, which bridge was it?

Dave's video column is pretty good, thanks for sharing that.

It was the bridge to nowhere, and I felt like indiana jones for a little, always good.

As for your list of ideas, you should get chalkboard paint so you can write on you walls, or one, with chalk, which I have been wanting to do for a while. It would be RAD.

@mark, yeah good with wood like a carpenter. I will need plenty of help building a photo booth...

Annie, yeah I heard that is what the dude had in 300 Days of Summer. The thing about that is it brings up many problems such as: allergies, dry skin and the fact that your room would be covered in chalk dust... A white board wall would be the way to go...
