I just took a bubble bath which I haven't done in forever mostly because my skin is super, super, extremely sensitive and usually breaks out in a terrible rash when I use bubbles in a bath, but I took the risk and added some to my bath water which paid off because I now smell like oranges and have real soft skin and feel nice and happy and playful and wonderful. I also drank a nice glass of cabernet sauvignon which is the only red wine I know, but don't like THAT much; my mom introduced me to a nice merlot yesterday that I think I should investigate further. What red wines do you all like? I mean, usually I'm a white wine kinda girl, but sometimes you get that feeling like you need a red, you know? I'm not a wine connesieur at all, but would like to be at some point in my adult life. Might as well start the preliminary education now. Also, while we're on the topic of alcohol, I need a drink that's "mine." When I go out, I always get overwhelmed by options and never know what to get. Should I be disgusting and get a beer? No, I hate beer. I would go with something vodka-based because it's the easiest to mix things with, but I had one really bad night with the alcohol and now I can't touch it without thinking of Michelle and Melissa's house party and waking up with regurgitated popcorn in my hair. I tend to go for 7 and 7s, and sometimes Jack and Coke, but I don't know if those completely suite me. It's so hard to find a drink that defines you. What are YOURS? But back to my bath. So bubble bath, red wine . . . and FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS. I'm wholly and completely in love with this book. I wish people didn't just think of the movie when they heard the title because (though I have not seen the film) I cannot imagine how it would do Thompson any justice. He's just such a wonderful and hilarious writer. The scene where when he and his attorney are speeding across the desert with a hitchhiker in the backseat had me laughing aloud. In public. Who cares if people stard at me--I was properly enjoying a work of art. OKAY. Well I had a pretty boring day and a completely boring weekend (except for the superbowl, which I really like watching actually) so I guess I'll go. Here are last thoughts in bullet point:
it was nice seeing you on friday for 0.56 seconds. Too bad we couldn't have all hung out. Thanks for asking how I was feeling by the way, Joey. That was nice of you. Also, I'm pretty sure that was the first time I had seen any of you boys in 2010, so happy new year.
I'm glad the Saints won the Big Game. Here were my favorite parts of the Super Bowl though: Autotune Bud Light commercial with Colin from Everwood; anything Reggie Bush (I have a lot of SD pride); eating the best nachos probably ever made; drinking calimochos; eating pizza and chips and dip and a vegetable platter and a lot of other terrible food that's only okay to eat in massive amounts on Super Bowl Sunday
my friend Stephanie (who is probably still on her way to making a terrible mistake), bought a house with her fiance this weekend. It's in Alpine, which I'm upset about because it's too far away from me. Way to be selfish all the time, Gina!
Okay, je pense que c'est tout. I think I'll go watch the last episode of Everwood season 2 now.

Go for the mojito, because Jason Schwartzman knows how to sell a drink.

My drink of choice?
Usually I go with a nice bottle of Sparkling Cider. I have found that if you wrap it in a brown bag, people think you are super intense...

I personally enjoy Cabs but it highly depends on the brand. Rombauer makes a good Cab and Merlot but they are near $40 a bottle. If you want to spend a little less B.R. Cohn's Cab is about $20. Some wineries also have a Cab/Merlot blend which are pretty good. For the most part, don't expect it to be good if it's sub $15.
As far as drink that defines me I'm pretty much in the same position. Mojitos are pretty good, they leave you with minty breath, but not every place offers them.

I've never had a mojito, but don't think I'd like it much on account of the fact that I'm not a huge fan of rum. But I would like to order one just so I can say it like Jason Schwartzman--he's a convincing man, Annie, you're right about that.
