I don't understand what the problem is. I think it sound very pretty; it's not like she let her crazy voice come through on it. Open up your heart to Regina, Jeffy! It's for a good cause!

haha dude, there's nothing wrong with covers. they're homages. it's an artist's take on a song. people don't cover songs with the intentions of "improving" it. plus, dude, regina spektor is awesome.
the link won't load for me though. :/

Oh, I know there is nothing wrong with covers; I have even heard some fantastic Radiohead covers. But Gina, this would be like Justin Beiber covering Lady Gaga. Imagine that! You are right, though, she doesn't let her voice go too wild in this song, though her intonation is still there at times.
But, I mean, she left out some of the most important words in the song!

Thanks for sharing this. I think I might like it better than Radiohead's version. I can hardly understand what Thom Yorke is saying; Her diction is much better. The breathing section is kinda weird though.

It's definitely a different song when she does it--you get a lot more emotion...
And Jeff, I got a bad case of Bieber Fever--if J Beebs sang some Gaga, I'd be all over it.

I think Radiohead's version is amplified tenfold just by the inclusion of "Get me out of here," a lyric that is undoubtedly important to the song and that is missing from Regina's version...

This reminds me of a cover I once saw:

I guess its just opinion; and I don't think she bothered to layer the lyrics which takes away part of the song but it sounds like its just supposed to be one layer. I'm just glad she didn't get the lyrics wrong like when Thom sang Wish You Were Here with sparklehorse, hahah.

Haha, well she could have tacked it on at end like T. Yorke does acoustically =)
Interesting Mew cover. Once again, I do not like the voice but the acoustic guitar is pretty cool... Totally different.

Yea, I think a appreciate song covers that are done in the spirit of the song but totally different musically, (as long as its done well) more than a straight cover.

@Chris Haha dude Yorke at Coachella was ridiculous. I couldn't understand a single word he said. "this one here is to freak out to" were the only words I understood.

Peter, if you were as close as we were, you would have!

Peter, I even talked to him after his performance at Coachella and it was just incoherent. Flea walked up to me and was just like, "yea its hard sometimes."
He did say "Sweet" a lot, i think

Don't be hatin' on mr. T. Yorke, okay, I still don't believe his version can be beat.
Now I'm not saying Regina Spektor's version is the worst or that I didn't enjoy it one bit, I just don't think I can like Regina Spektors voice with Yorkes lyrics.
Jeff, I'm with you on this one!

By no means it is the worst cover I have ever heard, (I refer you to Nu Metal Wolf at the Door and manyyy more).
