New York, I love you, but not your acting.

Nicely filmed parts of New York, I Love You, minus the dialogue
The other night I decided to take advantage of my Netflix account, so I watched New York, I Love You. Turns out, I didn't really like. Being 20, without a fake ID, I couldn't take part in the after celebration, so I made this. It's very short, and I was just messing around with imovie, but I made sure to cut out all the crap acting. Maybe I just didn't like some of the actors, but I don't think that was it.

It's just really about the cool lighting and camera shots. I know there are some issues, but I'm still learning it!

That's cool, it's much better than anything I could do. It reminds me a lot of something Jeff would do.

i just watched "new york, i love you" this afternoon (despite the warning you posed in this entry, haha). and while i definitely agree with you about the acting - some performances were terrible (i.e. rachel bilson and hayden christiensen) - it really did have some great moments (i.e. ethan hawke and maggie q, orlando bloom and christina ricci, eli wallach and cloris leachman) which somewhat made up for everything else. i think the problem with it was that all the shorts, despite having different characters and a different premise, all felt like the the same story. that may have been the intention, but the thing that made "paris, je t'aime" great for me was the fact that each story was so refreshingly different.

anyway, if nothing else, i hope you remember "new york, i love you" with a little more favorable memory looking back...

oh also, yeah, that video is about the sexiest thing i've ever seen.

I'm glad It wasn't just me that thought some of the acting was bad, but I definitely agree with you with the ones you listed, especially the Ethan Hawke short. And yes, I do think "Paris, je t'aime" was better, because they were all pretty much styled and edited differently, and will still put that above "New York, I Love you." Sadly, I still keep thinking about the negatives of it, including Shia LaBeouf's.

ANND Thank you guys, there are a few glitches in the video, but that can be fixed!
