Well, my life at sea world has officially ended as of this evening. It
was my third summer painting faces and giving airbrush tattoos, and I
am glad I am finished! I don't know how people could stay at such a
place all year round, especially with the uniform:
Pants: Navy blue, provide plenty of room for front bum, often leaving
the normal sized individual with a large amount of unused fabric,
resulting in a bulge once in the seated position. Shirt: Three
colors are available for the polo shirt, navy blue, maroon, and red. If
you really want to make it look like you work in a theme park, wear the
bright red. Name tag: One underaged Annie, legal Annie's, one legal Autmn, and or Athena to complete the look.
Although, I do have to say I will miss: _SLEEPING IN _Not having to work at starbucks for days and days. _Morning/afternoon drives to sea world: Passion tea and good music. _Talking with caricature artists _ Larger than Starbucks paychecks. _ Fresh air _ Counting money while listening to Vanessa Carlton and 98 degrees in the park.
But I will not miss: _Arm tan and less tan legs _Dirty hands and fingernails _Sea world daytime playlist: consisting of funeral music and sleep music _The same sea wold music for three summers now, consisting of: bon jovi and journey (the worst!!) _OBESE people everywhere! _My supervisor who stole my paintbrushes, sunglasses, and scarf. _Questions like, "are the tattoos real?" -yes, yes they are. oh and, _"Will the face paints smear if they go on shipwreck rapids, or the splash zone?" -"No, the face paint doesn't come off in water, I recommend the front row of the Shamu show." _8 hour shifts, resulting in exhaustion.
I
think I have worked to long when I can see the company starting to
crumble. Each year is worst than the previous, I keep going because I
have hope that it will be better the next year. But when my commission
rate is dropped, when I see the lies of the company, when they let
Anyone be a lead or supervisor, supplies are not available when needed,
and when the blame is put on us for not getting people to buy a
temporary face paint (too much sitting?)..It makes me not want to work
for them again.
BUT School starts monday, I have been
waiting to go back all summer, but now that it almost here, it seems so
strange to go back. I am really excited to start school again though.
This semester is going to be a test to see how many units I can handle.
So I am starting with eighteen, and I hope I can finish with eighteen,
hopefully with A's and B's. Jessica Isaac and Juan will be in my math class, that should be interesting..
Today: Starbucks at 6:30am. Parents away for the weekend.

I second Chris' comment.
It's a shame that Sea World is crumbling. I think I liked the place, although I haven't been in years.
Also, how did you manage to post this as an anonymous blog as well?
