Positive tension
Posted on April 30, 2009 by Annie!
I'm trying not to laugh in this small room; I think the close up of the sand, which looked like ripples, helped.
My sisters eyes are starting to respond as though she is staring directly into the sun.
A little further to my left, my mother is shifting as though she is uncomfortable, like if you say sex to her face, which we did.
My father is acting like he's hearing these things for the first time.
And this woman, who gives "advice and guidance," sounds like mini mouse and dresses like she is going to a club. Its hard to think this little woman could hold down the floor, she couldn't even keep her skirt from rising up, which I think she realized. She, like my mom, kept shifting awkwardly.
How could I take this woman seriously?
But I really think anyone could be in the seat she was, as long as the person was listening to both arguments being made, then of course nod.

Therapy, yeah, it's been a while. Janine and I got a lot out of it, unlike my parents.

To do list:

-Finish painter project
-Think of new "series" project (probably illustrator)
-Finish final project quickly
-Finish two papers
-Think of cake design for my cousins small wedding reception
-Think of variety show poster for other cousin
-Finish quickly

Not tooooo bad, but the art projects will take some time. OH! speaking of art projects, my version of Corel Painter expires in 3 days, illustrator CS4 already expired and  photoshop CS4 expired a long time ago. I was wondering if I could get any of these programs (for free) if possible, because I nnnnnneeeeeeed them so I can work at home as well as in class. I will make you cookies or something, or maybe a cake, whichever you prefer. I know you said you had it jeff but I know you still have to clean some things on your computer first, and I don't want to rush you.

I want to take this painter class next semester, even thought I'm not in love with the program, but one of the illustrators of Anastasia and Thumbelina is teaching the class. Which is amazing! And those use to be a few of my favorites when I was little.

So thursday I went out with a few friends and saw Tokyo!  which Gondrys sort film was the best, of course.
Friday was Coachella day which was great, but it resulted in a headache from all the techno and Crystal Castles.
Saturday through Thursday I got to hang out with Jeff! Which makes me suupppppper happy, and it is so nice to see him everyday, even if it is just for a little. I don't know how we hardly saw each other when we first started dating, I was a little crazy.

I am watching She's all that right now, because I feel like it, and I am so happy we do not have to use CHS any more, they are so awful! But they remind me of the good days, watching Center stage, A little princess, and Hook. It also makes me think of my cousin, Kaylyn, because we used to watch shes all that and Center stage.. awwww.
-I'm at the cool art show part, where zack is hacky sack.

I know  of you are out and about camping, building fires, chasing wild things, eating trail mix and all that good stuff, but I am going to post. Plus will give you a little something to come home to. AW.

So disappointment after disappointment (don't worry there is a light at the end.)
1. Couldn't go see Fast and the Furious with most of you, parents wouldn't allow it. I shouldn't have told them I had to work at four in the morning. Which brings me to:
2. I didn't get ANY sleep, why bother if I had to wake up around 3:45? I couldn't get random things out of my head like how good this is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQ5W1swGsVc

and this skit, which I am always singing in my head:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8e6-IeQ0aw

I'm not complaining, but it doesn't help if I am trying to get at least one hour of sleep.
3. I'm glad I got a good night sleep because I had to work two hours later than I was supposed to. So my four hour shift, which later turned to a six hour shift, finally became a full eight hours. I was kind of tired.
BONUS I- Finally took a nap. Woke up thinking about franklin gothic and Hammock (???!)
BONUS II- Got my hair cut, and had a conversation with the ladies working about thug names, her friends husbands name is Tykie (you know, like the dog food, some sweet wild life artist, and diaper brand..TYTE!) and it is written on his back, even better.
4. Tried to download another version of Illustrator, I failed, so I couldn't make a cool tee shirt design.
5. Worked some more, I slept this time.
BONUS III  went on a bike ride today.
6. Worked on some homework.
7. Oh yes! I had originally planned to go to san jose on wednesday, but now I am not going, but will be going in a few weeks instead. So now that I do not need to take that time off of work, I could have gone camping with all of you! Bummer...
But, it is alright now, I admit, I was going a little crazy earlier, but I am gooood because I came across a nice surprise tonight, or this morning.
BONUS IV First it was food network challenge (cakes!) then they started a new episode with Miley Cyrus (my personal favorite.) As much as I wanted to watch her and her speech impediment, luckily, I cam across KPBS.
SURPRISE: I got to watch arcade fire perform!!!
If I was to be in any band, and if I played an instrument, I would be in the arcade fire, and I would play the violin, the  viola, or somehow the Hurdy gurdy, just because it looks cool. They look like they have so much fun dancing on stage together, jumping, playing, and shouting into megaphones.
All for making the arcade fire 2? I can play washboard, shake an egg, make it rain, and play some guitar. I'm pretty sure these are useful skills.

I look forward to seeing pictures!

mud monsters

TODAY

I love (most) sundays,  I finally get to sleep in because I am not forced to go to church in the morning like I used to, and I do not have to wake up around 5 am to go to work.

Instead of doing homework today, like I had originally planned, I decided to go to the mud race with my mom and little brother. I have never heard of it before, but it sounded interesting and decided I needed to have a look for myself.

I am glad I went, I don't know when I will ever see a man running in the mud with a suit on again.

After playing mud baseball, and watching people run in the mud plus a few somehow trying to avoid the mud, I visited Jessica at jamba juice. I didn't even get a free smoothie, I think she likes you more than me Jeff, or maybe because my mom and scott were there and three free smoothies are just too many.

I had a conversation with a homeless man today. He has started to collect colored plastic spoons and was upset when I gave him a black one, but I was glad to help him with his collection, even if it wasn't colored. I used to collect, so I understand.   Apparently he is going to open the system in the computer of the new yogurt shop across the street (which he opened) because he thinks I deserve a free yogurt, how nice of him.

YESTERDAY

I had a fuse and it tasted like melted pop rocks. Pop Rocks are freaking great in their natural form, but  liquid, not so much. It gave me a stomach ache, and Ritz crackers made it better. Ritz!!

Jeff and I went to La Jolla, were we discovered the ice cream shop accepts chocolate money, caves do not exist, and seals = maggots. We made our way over to balboa park where we stalked an older couple and discovered some trails which lead us to a building, which was great for snipers. We found ourselves on the vacant side of balboa park with the air theatre. I think it was empty because they were going to be performing High school musical and Annie, but that is just my guess. CPKCPK. Thai (1/2 chicken) pizza for the first time, chicken looked tempting.

(stalking)

This week I have been like the older sister because I have a later curfew than janine, who has to be home at 11;30. SUCKER. No curfew at all would be even better though. Eventuallyyyyyyy.

Friday I talked to devendra banhart friend and  hung out with DADA friends. We made an old greg cake that did not look so much like old greg, but it was delicious.

Once in a lifetime.

This was meant to be right before Gina's post.

I have had the sudden urge to watch full episodes of Space Ghost, but I can only find short clips, sometimes the full episode, but split up. I just need to watch the full episode without breaks. At first it was between Space Ghost or Mystery Science Theatre 3000, but only the episode with Trumpy. Then I really liked how I could find an episode of Space Ghost with Yorke, Bjork, and Byrne. I know, it is too good.

I've been riding my bike to and around part of the lake over the past four days, and I am really enjoying it. Devendra Banhart is the perfect man to listen to while I'm riding, but I think it mostly has to do with the weather/ time of day. It is very peaceful.

Funky sleeping habits this weekend, but they are nothing compared to most of you guys.

I realized this afternoon, after my nap (!) that, it is time to change my flannel sheets back to cotton, this is extremely sad to me. I know it was the late afternoon, and the sun was beating down on me, so I will probably keep them on for a little longer, until I  absolutely cannot take it anymore. It just doesn't feel to good waking up in sweat, especially since I have to use my blankets at all times

Well, well, well, where to begin?
Saturday was one of those days where I look back on what I have done in the past twenty four hours and  find it difficult to believe the events have occurred over the course of one day. How could two Great things like going to disneyland and going to see m83 concert fit into one day? That is right, Jeff took me to disneyland for my birthday and surprised me with m83 tickets. I knew m83 were going to be playing in L.A but I did not think he would be taking me to the concert; I shook with excitement.

The trip was amazing, from driving to disneyland, where taught me about culver and the city, walking around disneyland, learning about reebok, meeting up with ashley, taking a Great star wars picture, shooting things, seeing so many scene and goth kids, driving though the city of sex AND seeing M83

And I really enjoyed the drive back home because we had spent the whole day together and it was slowly coming to an end, but it was enjoyable from the beginning to the end. And it felt extremely nice to sit on the passenger seat next to jeff, wearing nothing on my feet and my soft skin against my sweater and against jeffs soft skin. I felt comfortable.

I wish I was able to take more pictures, especially at the concert, with with the symphony included.
ahhhhhhhhhhh :)

It always feels nice to go back and look at CocoRosie interviews. This one is one of my favorites so far because they talk about fairies and farms, but most importantly it reminds me of TDP (Techno Dance Party) night pt. 2. Gina and katy I think you might appreciate 2:45 because it looks like us getting ready to dance. But I think the image at 3:45 will make everyone laugh.
